Hailing the “unyielding spirit” of the Indian people, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a powerful message of support after a terror attack in Delhi killed eight people. In a statement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Netanyahu vowed that this spirit would not be broken.

“Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls,” Netanyahu declared. He reaffirmed the close ties between the two countries, describing India and Israel as “ancient civilisations united by shared values” that will ultimately “outshine the darkness of our enemies.”

The Israeli leader, along with his wife Sara, offered “deepest condolences” to the families of those killed in the Monday evening blast near the Red Fort. “Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength in this time,” his message assured.

This message of solidarity was also delivered by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar. “I extend my & Israel’s deepest condolences,” Saar posted, adding that “Israel stands with India in its fight against terror.”

The investigation into the car bombing has been escalated and is now being led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The agency has registered a case to probe the “terrorist attack,” which top sources believe was executed by a Jaish-e-Mohammad module.
