Belgium secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Türkiye in their UEFA Nations League clash on Friday in Liege. Kevin De Bruyne played a pivotal role, scoring twice to lead his team to victory and leave Türkiye struggling at the bottom of Group A1.
The match saw De Bruyne open the scoring in the first half after a slick exchange with Dodi Lukebakio, culminating in a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area. As Türkiye fought to equalize, they failed to capitalize on their chances, allowing Belgium to maintain their lead.
De Bruyne further extended Belgium’s advantage with a sublime curling effort into the top corner, showcasing his skill and precision. The final blow to Türkiye’s hopes came when Romelu Lukaku, introduced as a substitute in the 61st minute, found the net after connecting with a low cross from Charles De Ketelaere.
This defeat marks Türkiye’s third consecutive loss in the competition, leaving them without a point. Conversely, Belgium’s win propels them to six points, trailing group leaders France by just one point.
Looking ahead, Türkiye will face Italy on October 5. However, they will be without the services of Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz, who will miss the match due to suspensions after receiving yellow cards.
