Circularo has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the UAE’s burgeoning cybersecurity workforce by returning as a Gold Sponsor for the 2026 School of Cyber Defence competition. This event, which is being organized by TechFirm Technology LLC under the auspices of the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), is designed to engage university students in tackling practical cybersecurity challenges. The competition will culminate on September 18, 2026, at the GISEC Global event in Dubai, where five teams will present and defend their solutions before a panel of cybersecurity experts.
The competition begins with an online qualification round, followed by a case study that requires selected teams to analyze a security scenario and devise an effective response. After a review by experts, the top five teams will receive mentoring to prepare for the final showdown. The 2026 edition of the program will cover critical areas such as network protection, threat management, system security, and incident response, while also incorporating artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies.
Circularo’s sponsorship aims to provide students with hands-on experience that supplements their academic learning. The company, known for its digital trust and document workflow solutions, plans to further enrich the participants’ experience through classroom interactions and industry insights. Circularo has been a player in the digital solutions sector since its founding in 2013, serving clients including government entities and businesses across the Middle East and beyond.
This initiative builds on the success of the inaugural School of Cyber Defence competition held at GISEC Global 2025, which drew over 300 applications from UAE universities and featured 130 students in the qualification rounds. The competition is open to students aged 17 and above, who can participate in teams of up to five members without needing prior competition experience. A prize pool exceeding AED 20,000 awaits the winning teams.
The timeline for the competition is set with registration closing on September 3, 2026, and the online qualification concluding by September 6, 2026. The case study and jury assessment will take place from September 7 to 11, with the announcement of finalists and mentoring scheduled for September 14, 2026. The final competition will be held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai, offering a platform for young talents to showcase their skills in cybersecurity.
